  1. Dependency Mapping & Impact Analysis:

    • I initiate by collaborating closely with Developers, Product Managers, and Business Analysts to gain a holistic understanding of the API landscape. We identify all upstream and downstream dependencies for the feature in scope. This involves reviewing architectural diagrams (if available), functional specifications, and engaging in whiteboarding sessions.
    • We map out data flows, authentication mechanisms, error handling, and potential points of failure. The goal is to understand not just what APIs are involved, but how a change in one API could impact others. This early analysis directly informs our Requirement Coverage by ensuring all interconnected functionalities are understood.
  2. Risk-Based Test Strategy & Design (Manual Focus):
