My process involves:

  1. Discovery & Impact Analysis:

    • Requirements Deep Dive: Collaborate intensely with Product Managers and Business Analysts to fully understand new features, target markets, and business goals.
    • Scope & Risk Identification: Identify all impacted existing functionalities and potential integration points. This is crucial for designing a comprehensive regression strategy.
    • Critical User Journeys: Define the most critical user flows, both for new features and existing ones that might be affected.
  2. Test Strategy & Design (Manual Focus):

    • Regression Suite Refinement: Update and execute existing manual regression test suites, focusing on high-risk, high-impact areas of the current system. This ensures the expansion doesn't break established functionality.
    • New Feature Functional Testing: Design detailed manual test cases for the expansion's new functionalities, ensuring full Requirement Coverage.
    • Exploratory Testing: Dedicate time for expert manual testers to perform exploratory testing. This uncovers edge cases, usability issues, and hidden defects that formal test cases might miss, especially critical in new, undefined territories.
    • Integration Testing: Manually verify data flows and interactions between new and existing modules and any third-party integrations.
