This includes reviewing existing test artifacts like test plans, requirement documents, and defect reports to establish a baseline of their manual test case design and execution practices.

  2. Process Standardization & Documentation: I look for the presence and adherence to documented testing processes—from comprehensive manual test case design (functional, exploratory, regression scenarios) to defect reporting and release gates. A mature BU would have clear entry/exit criteria for testing phases, defined roles, and cross-functional collaboration protocols. We’d aim for standardized manual test case templates and clear test plan structures that ensure thorough coverage without over-engineering.
