I categorize these as "knowns" and, crucially, identify and document "unknowns" as clear assumptions.

  1. Scope Definition & Phased Estimation: I'd define the highest-level scope boundaries based on what's known. Initial effort estimates would be high-level (e.g., T-shirt sizing or relative complexity points), communicated with a clear disclaimer about the inherent uncertainty. This becomes a living estimate, refined iteratively as clarity emerges.

  2. Risk-Based Testing: I prioritize testing based on identified risks:

    • Business Impact: Which functionalities are mission-critical?
